Holy herbs! I can hardly believe that this “divine” day has finally come.
Welcome to the new Jobs.co.za website South Africa’s Job Portal.
You have reached the pages of Jobs’ in-house Career Guru, Jo Blog.
Uh-hah that’s me, Jo… Jo Blog.
Err…no not the to die for Joe Black (Although some say I look a little like Brad Pitt in Seven years in Tibet)…Jo Blog, just a regular Jo with a feisty passion for people, personalities positions and placements.

I work voluntarily for Jobs.co.za and help Job Seekers and Recruiters alike – yeah, you heard me, I’m the career guru guy you want to know when it comes to any recruitment questions or challenges you may be faced with whether you are a Recruiter or a Job Seeker.

As you can imagine the Jobs Team has been anticipating this day for a pretty long time now. Since the 2nd of March our evolved team of recruitment specialists, web developers and online marketers have been grafting nonstop to bring you this revolutionary new Job Portal.

To start off; instead of bragging about the awesome new Job Seeker and Recruiter functionality found on the new Jobs.co.za portal (you can find that out by registering and browsing the site) I wanted to show you how far Jobs.co.za has come and where we plan on going to. So for a once off err…day off, sit back grab a cuppa Jo (but not too tightly now) and find out more about the company that’s going to leave a mark on your career for the better.

Jobs.co.za was initially incepted around 1996 by a young Nial Murphy, son of Terry Murphy, publisher of Systems Publishers (Pty) Ltd. With the URL www.jobs.co.za but trading as Job Navigator take a look at this “blast from the past”.

My eye’s my eyes…

Eventually Nial left Job Navigator in the very capable hands of his father Terry and decided to move on to greener pastures. Soon after, Mr Murphy too decided to sell Job Navigator and continued in his publishing persuites.

After changing hands several times, Job Navigator was then purchased by Desto Recruitment and managed by Tertia Calitz. Tertia took Jobs.co.za along a slightly different path to that of other online job portals in South Africa and made it her focus and converted passion to assist disabled communities and Job Seekers with disabilities find sustainable employment.

Fostered by bidorbuy.com Inc, a Delaware Company and parent of bidorbuy (Pty) Ltd, purchased the Jobs.co.za website (Job Navigator) in January ’08 and so the tale continues.

Jobs.co.za currently ranks number one on major search engines such as Google and has maintained this ranking through somewhat turbulent and stagnant times.

Jobs.co.za is now thrilled to present South Africa’s new and improved job portal. With new management, a new website built from the ground up, a new team and hell even new offices, Jobs is here to stay and stay it shall.

Come back tomorrow where I will introduce to you the new team of “Jobbers” and some more about what you can expect to find in my blog pages.
Keep coming back…Your career can work if you work it, so work it, you’re worth it!
