Who has access to the Jobs database

I hope to deliver information that will prove helpful to all Recruiters and effective in providing you with tools, tips and tricks that will streamline your recruitment process.
The topic that I want to write to you about today is not so much of a tip or recommendation but rather an expression of Jobs.co.za’s attitude towards CV database search access.
Jobs.co.za’s core focus is to look after our Job Seeker’s while at the same time, provide a service to Recruiters. Employers (Corporates) do not have access to search the Jobs.co.za Job Seeker Profile and CV database. As a Job Seeker centric website, Jobs.co.za has a responsibility towards the Job Seeker to protect their confidentiality. Company’s who are not registered labour brokers or recruitment agencies are therefore not permitted to search the Jobs.co.za database and as such, assures subscribing recruiters that while employers are able to advertise their job advertisements, they are never permitted to search the database.
The reason for this stance is quite simple. We do not want a Job Seeker’s own employer to be able to find their details on the database as the Job Seeker may be on the database to look for a job because they are unhappy in their current position. Should the employer see that the employee is actively looking for a job, it may create a very uncomfortable and possible very unpleasant working environment. Jobs.co.za believes that it is essential to protect the Job Seeker’s confidentiality so that they can feel comfortable that their visible (public) profiles and CV’s will only be searched by recruiting professionals who will respect and value their confidentially.
It would be great to hear some of your thoughts around this matter as I believe it is a concern and an issue for most if not all recruitment agencies and for obvious reasons. Together, we need to protect the database that we are building . Please leave me a comment and maybe let me know some of your other concerns.
