Taking a Stand against Online Job Fraud
1 comment so farWhen I started typing my blog post today I was going to talk about the fraudulent Job Advert that we found and removed yesterday from the website. I planned a good and proper rant about this and even bleeped out a few words here and there.
After thinking this through, I’m approaching this from a different angle. Sure this case of online fraud was not what we were hoping to have to deal with in the first few weeks of having launched but …as they say…it happens.
So as much as I’d like to mouth off about this, I’m not going to. Instead, I’m going to inform you that the response that we have had to this incident of fraud has been phenomenally positive.
Sheepishly I came into work today anticipating a blasting from every which direction. Instead, the Jobs community and all the Job Seekers involved have pulled together and are standing strong to fight Online Job Fraud and to get these immoral human beings off our browsers for good.
Without mentioning names for obvious reasons, I would like to send my warmest regards to a few Job Seekers who have helped in addressing this case of online fraud.
You know who you are and we have spoken a few times today, but the entire Jobs Team would like to commend you for your upstanding values and your dedication to protecting yourself and others online.
South Africa is still stunted in terms of its internet usage and still has a far way to go. Despite the distance we still have to travel in order grow this online baby, proceed we must.
It is because of internet users such as yourselves and others, responsible enough to still believe in the value of communities, that South Africa’s internet usage is growing in leaps and bounds.
I applaud each and every one of you for taking a stand against online fraud. You are the true hero’s of the internet. Without your vigilant eye and keen nose for corruption, online companies would have nothing to work with in terms of eliminating online criminal behaviour.
Jobs.co.za Thanks you all for standing by us and for assisting us in removing such users from OUR website.
We hope and trust that our response to this case of Jobs Fraud has been efficient and responsive and displayed our intolerance to such behaviour.
To find out more about this case of fraud take a read through my blog post before this one entitled; Warning: This is NOT a hot Job.
And all the Gangsta’s out there looking to take advantage of the innocent; Take your fraud somewhere else, there’s no place for you on Jobs.co.za
Anyway, I’m out.
Please let me know your thoughts around this matter by leaving me a comment.
I’d love to hear how you feel about all of this.
Take care and Peace Out!
