Recrutiers: read all about Jobs.co.za CV Search
No commentsNow this is a blog post that recruiters are going to want to read!
Hi everyone and welcome.
The reason for my stifling enthusiasm is because in today’s blog post I’m going to be explaining to Recruiters how the Jobs.co.za Search system actually works.
You may have noticed a previous blog post that I put up for the Job Seekers earlier this week explaining the same thing but rather how the system will locate their CV.
Understanding how the Job Search works will better equip Recruiters with the knowledge needed to run effective and successful Job seeker Searches.
There are two means to search on Jobs.co.za namely; Quick Search and Advanced Search. Before getting into the difference between these two let’s begin by understanding the way in which the system in fact runs the search.
Regardless of if you are running an advanced search or a quick search, understanding how the Jobs.co.za system will locate candidates based on your search, will better equip you to run effective searches on the website.
Essentially, when specifically selecting search criteria detailed on the advanced or quick search template (e.g. Job Function, location, industry etc), based on those specific criteria, the system isolates all of the corresponding Job Seeker Profiles. What this means is that instead of searching the full database of candidates (which could become rather cumbersome) the system will first pinpoint candidates that correspond to that basic criteria.
After doing so the system will continue to search for relevant candidates based on the free text keywords which you may or may not have included.
For Example:
Let’s say that you are looking for a Sales Consultant (Job Function), who must be experiences in Microsoft Excel (Free text keyword), within the Marketing Industry, who lives in Johannesburg.
The system will first locate all Sales Consultants within the Marketing Industry and who reside in Johannesburg. Once isolating a pool of candidates that match this criterion, the system will now utilise your free text keyword (Microsoft Excel) to search within this pool.
All criteria specified in any search, excluding free text keywords, theoretically, creates limitations on the search. By process of elimination, depending on the criteria submitted into the search query, the system will eliminate those Job Seeker CV’s and Profiles that do not correspond to the criteria input into the search (e.g. Job Function, location, industry etc).
By including free text keywords in the free text field of the search page, this will instruct the system to search all CV’s and Job Seeker Profiles over and above the basic search criteria (e.g. Job Function, location, industry etc), for your specific free text keywords.
To summarise:
Keywords = The system searches Job Seekers CVs & Profiles for those keywords you
have specified in the field
Search Fields = Matches the criteria you have selected to the Job Seekers criteria
e.g. if you select Information Technology as an industry, it will only show Job Seekers who have selected Information Technology in their profile. It does not search their CV for the word Information Technology.
Well I hope that this has helped to explain how the Jobs.co.za CV Search actually works and will aid you in locating the precise staff that you are looking for.
Please feel free to ask any questions or leave me a comment regarding the Jobs.co.za candidate search
Peace Out,
