Namaste’ and welcome to my Blog Pages.

Jo Blog is my name and this JoBlog is my game.

I am South Africa’s career guru, and work voluntarily for Jobs.co.za, South Africa’s Job Portal of choice.

With a Job Seeker centric focus, Jobs asked me to be a part of their professional team and provide career guidance and recruiter support to all users of Jobs.co.za

It is my “soul” purpose to service both Job Seekers and Recruiters alike.

As both go hand in hand, Jobs.co.za has asked me to support and guide Recruiters and Job Seekers alike, along a sustainable career path and attainable recruiter objectives.

As you would have noticed, Jobs.co.za has undergone quite an exciting transformation.

Like a caterpillar into a butterfly (my favourite metamorphosis on the planet) Jobs has certainly blossomed into a job portal that will provide Job Seekers with the information and functionality needed to search for, apply to and fill their favourite job vacancies. Similarly Recruiters now have a sophisticated yet uncomplicated online suite to place ideal candidates into promising job vacancies.

I wanted to give you a glimpse into what you can expect to find in this JoBlog so that you can keep visiting me on the days that specifically interest you.

This JoBlog may work slightly differently to those you are used to but with the intention of keeping the topics relevant and always helpful. There is nothing worse about blogs that carry on forever about the discovery of sugar coated breakfast cereal if you catch my drift, so I’ll do my best to keep it interesting.

While I promise I won’t tell you what I eat for breakfast each morning – as you can see by my unique physique breakfast is a big deal to me, here are the weekly topics for the JoBlog;

Monday’s line-up, expect to find The Employment Times. This weekly Monday topic will reveal Recruiter and Job Seeker news, announcements and other topics of interest researched from various recruitment media and publications.

Top Tip Tuesday’s formerly known just as Tuesdays, will reveal a Top Tip for Job Seekers each and every week. It is my quest to continuously educate and assist Job Seekers by sharing the most relevant Tips to successful ways to finding and sustaining their dream job.

Wednesdays are my workplace days, Jo Blog’s Workplace, where I will highlight poor job adverts, great ones, news announcements and other happenings in the recruiting industry. It’s worth your while staying up to date with what happens in the industry, as each tiny detail will aid you in reaching your career goals and aspirations.

As Tuesdays are reserved for Job Seeker Tips, it’s only fair to lend a helping hand to the Recruiters. On Thursday’s, Recruiters can expect to find Recruiter Recommendations where I will list Top Tips for Recruitment Agencies and how they can raise the bar and be the best.

Finally, want to know about the Hot Jobs and the not so hot ones? Each Friday I will be profiling some of the most interesting careers around. How to search for these jobs, how fill them and how to succeed in them.

Another interesting thing that’s worth mentioning to you, a factor that sets my blog from other blogs, is the Recruiter’s Sphere. Each subscribing Recruiter has the opportunity to post their very own blogs. The Recruiters Sphere is where Recruiters log in and post personal blogs about their personal recruiting experience. Perhaps they share helpful tips a funny story or even tricks of the trade that I’m not even savvy to. Recruiters offer a world of information to Job Seekers and definitely have knowledge to share with all of us.

With all that said, I think we might be in for a bit of a treat spending so much time together in my JoBlog. With handy tips, all the news you’d ever need to hear, guidance, a couple of laughs and a whole lot of learning. I hope you will enjoy my blog as much as I will writing it. Please feel free to leave me comments and your opinions on posts you read.

Thank you for visiting the JoBlog and please don’t hesitate to contact me should you need any assistance or help when using Jobs.co.za.

Peace Out,

Jo Blog
