Summary: The Payroll / HR Assistant’s main function is to assist the HR Manager with the implementation and maintenance of the VIP Payroll and HRIS-data basis, Equity, Skills data basis and also assist with the HR administration, filing, typing of documents ad hoc projects and the processing of the weekly and monthly payroll when required.<br />Primary Responsibilities:<br />Updating and maintenance of all relevant employee information on the employee’s personnel file as well as on the VIP payroll system. For example the EE Module, Skills Module, Personnel History Module etc.<br />Assist with the Salary payroll input, processing and distribution of pay slips<br />Assist with tax year end<br />Assist the Wage Administrator with the wage payroll<br />Wage / Salary payroll administration <br />Personnel record keeping - filing and implementation of new system<br />Processing and reconciliations of 3rd Party payments<br />Administration of WCA claims and correspondence<br />Administration of S&A Fund claims and correspondence<br />Assist HR Managerl with HR Statistics and reports<br />Typing of HR Correspondence <br />Ad Hoc projects from time to time<br />

Inherent Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Requirements<br />Matric / Grade 12 with mathematics required<br />3 year HR Diploma with 5 years payroll and HR administration experience required<br />Good knowledge of human resources processes<br />Experience working in a manufacturing environment - Motor Industry (Main Agreement) experience advantage<br />Good working knowledge of the VIP Premier Payroll System, with experience in the employment equity, skills development and personnel modules<br />Good PC knowledge and experience required in Word, Excel and power point<br />Must be bilingual - Afrikaans & English (African language an advantage)<br />Should be a self-starter and highly motivated<br />Should be well organised with the ability to prioritise and plan daily activities and to work with minimum supervision<br />Level of Interaction with colleagues and clients:<br />Requirement of the job is telephonic, electronic and direct interaction with internal clients (colleagues) as well as with external clients.<br />Expected to be able to work under pressure and work in a team by supporting the HR Official, HR Manager and Wage Administrator where necessary<br />The position reports directly to the HR Manager for the execution of daily duties and responsibilities.
