POSITION: RISK ADVISOR
LOCATION: SANDTON
REPORTING TO: RISK MANAGER
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Risk Advisor will be responsible for assisting the Board Risk Committee to successfully discharge its mandate by providing the required assurance to the Company\\\'s Board Risk Committee that the significant risks affecting the organisation are adequately identified, assessed and managed.
The successful candidate will further assist with the implementation and continued improvement of risk management practices and processes within the organisation as well as ensuring compliance with the relevant corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify risk management training requirements within the organisation, prepare training material and provide risk management training.
- Provide training on the use of the risk management software application.
- Facilitate risk assessment workshops according to the Company\\\'s risk management methodology.
- Assist management to design, implement and monitor internal risk management practices and processes.
- Report on effectiveness of internal risk management practices and processes.
- Provide a professional, disciplined, industry referenced and forward thinking approach to the implementation, evaluation and improvement of risk management practices and processes.
- Short and medium term planning, co-ordination and execution of risk management activities and projects.
- Attend and report to various risk, audit and steering committees.
- Obtain process buy-in from stakeholders and build strong client relationships.
- Liaise with Internal Auditors and Forensics Auditors to effectively share relevant risk information.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant Bachelor\\\'s degree in Commerce.
- Minimum of 4 - 5 years relevant experience (May include articles).
- Sound practical working knowledge of integrated risk management frameworks, methodologies and global best practices.
- Concrete understanding of strategic risk, operational risk, reporting risk, compliance risk and sustainability risks.
- Conceptual understanding of the workflows, interdependencies, barriers and complexities inherent in business processes, systems and technologies.
- A practical understanding of the corporate governance principles and best practices outlined in the King III Code.
- Sound up to date knowledge of compliance standards / best practices and how to apply these within the healthcare industry.
- Experience in practical implementation of Enterprise Risk Management or other integrated risk management frameworks.
- Practical experience in providing risk management training and facilitating risk assessment workshops.
- Practical experience in preparing management reports in line with standard best practices.
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Knowledge of the South African private healthcare industry, regulations and legislation will be beneficial.
