Reports to: Field Service Foreman<br />Key areas of responsibility in this position include:<br />Carrying out on site field service to customers requirements.<br />Completing service reports.<br />Carrying out site inspections on engines and filling in reports with the aim of<br />Promoting spare parts sales<br />Travelling to customers to carry out engine repair assessment.<br />Fault diagnosing and repair of diesel engines.<br />Assisting customers with technical information including engine installations.<br />Liaising with customers and resolving problems.<br />Adhering to the company’s technical and quality standards.<br />Assisting with product support.<br />

Inherent Requirements:
Min Matric or N3.<br />Qualified artisan - Trade Test Pass (Diesel Fitter).<br />At least 2 years post apprenticeship experience in servicing, repairing and overhauling<br />Of diesel engines.<br />Valid driver’s license (code 08).<br />Valid passport.<br />Ability to qualify for the mines “red ticket”<br />Specific knowledge required:<br />Knowledge of personal computer operation.<br />Ability to demonstrate the skills and knowledge of his/her trade<br />Ability to acquire competence in product knowledge.<br />Specific job skills required:<br />Well-developed diagnostic and problem solving skills.<br />Well-developed communication skills - English /Afrikaans language - (verbal and<br />Written).<br />Well-developed report writing skills.<br />Well-developed decision making skills.<br />Well-developed planning and organizing skills.<br />Ability to demonstrate discretion and judgment<br />Ability to liaise with customers and resolve problems<br />Ability to meet technical and quality standards<br />Behavioral attributes:<br />Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<br />Ability to work with a minimum of supervision<br />
