Mechanical/Electrical B Degree or National Diploma N6
4 years relevant experience 1 year at Management level
Knowledge of SAP Systems & MS Office

Optimising plant performance by ensuring utilities are properly maintained. Taking ownership for capital projects executed in your area of responsibility.

BUSINESS PROCESSES
React to failures:
Use data from SAP PM to draw up Pareto graphs on the history of maintenance activities to determine the bigger contributors to plant and machine stoppages. Look at long standing times, frequency of stoppages, cost to get the plant / piece of equipment back in operation, etc. In other words, identify and implement continuous improvement drives.
Do proper RCFA's on the above identified
Implement actions out of RCFA's
Improve the PM system:
Provide information to update preventative maintenance plans and task list on GSAP
Work closely with the planner to review PMO2's in order to prevent stoppages. Evaluate the content and frequency of PMO2's.
Ensure that major components and large spares achieve expected lives
Identify and drive warranty claims in conjunction with rotable controllers
Implement and do condition monitoring where applicable
Ensure that all engineering work meets the relevant standards, that drawings are marked up and that the latest technical data is readily available to the relevant artisans
Maintenance of SOP's: Any new recruitment and or changes recommended by teams or maintenance specialist to be verified and finalised
MOC process: As most requirements are in fact new installations and or modifications, the maintenance specialist will take ownership thereof to ensure maintenance and equipment standards are met
Line Responsibilities:
Assist the maintenance superintendent to achieve the sections maintenance KPI's as per the monthly maintenance report
Act in the superintendent's position when he is not there to gain line management experience
Assist in the planning of planned plant and machine maintenance
Manage projects on the superintendent's plant and machines
Implement cost saving initiatives
Identify and implement continuous improvement drives
Work Analysis:
Ensure the latest techniques are being applied with respect to NDT and condition monitoring
Advise in building reliability and maintainability in the design of new or modified equipment
Contractor Management:
Develop detailed scope of work for defined scope jobs
