Brief overview of the position:

Reporting to the Planning Manager and based in the Busby Retail Offices in Sandton.

Accountable for achieving sales, GP and stock turn budgets for the respective brand.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

 

Key outputs/responsibilities of this position:

  1. Conduct post-seasonal analyses where the previous season's performance is reviewed and specific relevant trends are identified.
  2. Review the  business styles in terms of their key attributes related to sales performance e.g. colour, style , range, price points, store performance, core versus fashion, size analysis etc.
  3. Compile a Buy Plan - establish an ideal buy plan by category in order to meet the set KPI and present OTB plan for approval.
  4. Range Building - Whilst Wholesale Brand Manager will select and build range, planner will work closely with the Brand Manager to ensure key attributes considered and balances back to OTB plan.
  5. Pricing strategy - In conjunction with Wholesale Brand Manager establish a logical pricing strategy - based on competitor analysis and international positioning which meets GP requirements.
  6. In season Management - Ensure all orders raised in Dolphin on time, track deliveries ensuring on time delivery to stores, analyse weekly and monthly performance and make recommendations for improved business performance - this may include , markdowns , additional buy ins, transfer stocks between branches .etc
  7. Monthly Trend Meeting - Prepare and present monthly performance, style performance, sales, GP, IMU, Store performance.
  8. Marketing - Work together with the marketing and Wholesale Brand Manager to drive sales orientated marketing opportunities e.g. side walk sale, ad hoc promotional activity to drive sales.
9.       Operations - Weekly store visits, required to work closely with sales an Ops Manager to ensure optional stock and sales performance by store as well as follow through on brand standards set by  wholesale brand manager and ensure implementation.

 

PERSONSPECIFICATION:

List thecharacteristics of a suitable incumbent for this position -

EducationalQualifications:

Grade12 (Matric)

Anappropriate tertiary qualification (preferably a degree) will be an advantage)

 

 

Experience:

·        Previousexperience as a planner

·        Previousexperience in the fashion retail industry

 

Competencies/Skills:

·        Selfmotivated, self starter who can cope with multiple tasks retaining a high levelof accuracy.

·        Planningand Organisational skills.

·        Goodcommunication and interpersonal skills

·        Hardworkingand flexible attitude to work, time management skills.
