We are seeking top level candidates to be responsiblefor increasing sales and market shares in Southern Africa in the industrial,mining and rail markets. Specific responsibilities:

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs and suggest specific products and services.
  • Prepare action plans/schedules, identify specific targets and project the number of contacts.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager in order to present a total solution to the customers
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Find new potential Manufacturer’s Reps/Distributors and then provide direction and support to increase sales.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
  • Consult with engineers regarding technical problems and provide customers with ongoing technical support.
  • Attend sales and trade meetings, trade shows and read related publications in order to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
  • Provide feedback to company's product design team so that products can be tailored to clients' needs.
  • Arrange for installation and test-operation of machinery.
  • Verify that materials lists are accurate and that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
  • Compute customer's installation costs, and estimate savings from new services, products, or equipment.
  • Verify customers' credit ratings, and appraise equipment in order to determine contract terms and trade-in values.

 

Qualificationsand Skills Requirements:

·        Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 5 yearssales experience (preferably in radio frequency and microprocessor basedproducts).

·        Industrial,Mining or Rail experience.

·        Abilityto persuade & influence others and develop/deliver presentations.

·        Stronginterpersonal and communication skills including ability to write reports, correspondenceand procedures well.

·        Possessionof a valid driver's license and passport as well as a major credit card withsufficient credit to charge (reimbursable) travel expenses.

·        Verygood knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and computer networks.

·        Goodunderstanding of schematic drawing, electronic & electrical theory,hydraulics & pneumatics.

 

This opportunity requiressignificant travel (60% ) within the country or abroad and may requireovernight travel, weekend and/or evening work. Many sales and business callsrequire visiting mine and rail sites.
