More information about this vacancy: Job Responsibilities: Specialist impact prediction studies with special reference to the geochemistry aspects of mining impacts. Integration of geochemical aspects of contamination assessment projects for the mining and related industries with other EIA aspects. Internal and external coordination of projects, mentoring, marketing, developing proposals, project management, commissioning specialists, report development, client liaison and budget management. Job Requirements: - M. Sc. Or Ph.D. Environmental Chemistry/Chemistry/ Geology/ Exploration Geology with a desire to develop a career in the direction Geochemistry. Minimum 5 years of experience in the consulting environment. - Specialist Geochemical modelling using PHREEQC, Geochemist (Speciation, Inverse/Reaction path modelling) and or Oxygen diffusion models ( O2 diff and Pyrox), - Baseline geochemical assessment of contamination sources, including tailings, waste rock, slag, processing waste, heap leach pads etc. - Specialist geochemistry inputs to EIAs; - Interpretation of static and kinetic geochemical testwork for ARD assessments; - Integrated risk based approach to developing ARD mitigation measures /ARD management plans; - Good project management, scheduling and budgeting skills; and - Proposal and report writing Additional Information: The Senior Geochemist/Geochemical Modeller provides specialist geochemistry inputs to clients seeking environmental compliance. HE/She conducts geochemical risk assessment and modelling work with the focus on mitigation of acid rock drainage (ARD) and water contamination ## Type : Permanent ## Location : Johannesburg - South Africa
