Computer Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel experience is a MUST (all formulas);
  • Powerpoint;
  • Outlook;
  • Word;
  • Previous experience - stock controlling system (not a must but a benefit)

 

 

Duties

 

  • Solely operating the stock control system (this is custom designed specifically for the company)
  • Constant communication and follow up with supervisors of the various department to ensure that the paper trail is followed through and CORRECTLY captured on the system;
  • Daily communication with finance department and merchandisers
  • Understanding of accounting documents - GRN's; Picking Slips; Invoices and POD's;
  • Full understanding of the merchandising; shipping and logistics functions;
  • Full understanding of stock allocation working with the receiving department with the physical stock i.e. maximise pallet space; weight; maximise number of cartons on a pallet and comparisons needs to be done to the system information;
  • Operational; working and understanding of the hardware and software (scanners; printers; etc);
  • Liaising with IT to ensure systems are all operational at ALL times;
  • Constant sample testing needs to be done to ensure that physical stock agrees to the amount reflected on the system;
  • Monitoring that all breakages; shortages and all discrepancies are recorded;
  • Control and monitoring all movement of stock between different stores (within the warehouse) and locations;
  • Constant inspection of the accuracy of stock allocation and investigation of stock place in not the correct location;
  • Daily Reconciliations with Head Office Accounting system i.e. reconcile stock figures;
  • Working in a warehouse environment (this function is office based but within the warehouse); and
  • Other adhoc functions relating to the control of stock.
