EMPLOYEE RELATIONS CONSULTANT (PDI)



Key Responsibilities

Consultation to staff and line management on less complex matters – advice on application and interpretation of policies; dealing with queries relating to the employment relationship, employee rights and obligations; giving advice on contractual matters

Disciplinary matters – additional investigation into matters referred by management

CCMA – represent the company at conciliations

Drafting Industrial Relations (IR) correspondence

Project work as and when assigned e.g., Employee wellbeing programme, newsletter, etc.

To conduct IR awareness sessions; present the IR module at Induction and ad hoc presentations

Internal dispute and grievance handling

Administrative:

To create and maintain an IR database

Collate monthly statistics and report on trends

Record keeping

Co-ordination of workshops, committees (e.g., Health and Safety and Employment Equity)

Maintenance and control of matters relating to occupational injuries and diseases

Arrange disciplinary hearings

Qualifications:

Matric essential

HR/IR qualification

Job Experience:

2-3 years Industrial / employee relations experience

Skills and Competencies Required

Excellent verbal and written communication

Good planning and organising skills

Attention to detail

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to interpret / evaluate information / trends and to make recommendations

Initiative

Results orientated
