Xstrata Alloys Western Mines is one of the world’s largest producers of chrome. Western Mines is located in the North West Province, on the outskirts of Rustenburg. We have the following opportunities at Horizon Mines for career-minded individuals:

Mechanical Coordinator

Responsibilities: Compliance with the Company’s SD system is essential in this role. Duties include maintaining engineering equipment, controlling budgets and overtime as well as being responsible for legal aspects.

Requirements: In order to qualify, applicants must hold a minimum N3 qualification, completed accredited trade test and at least 5 years’ experience as a Fitter Artisan. These must be supported by construction, civil, concrete and structures experience as well as experience in underground conveyance and in the maintenance of pumps and hydraulic packs. Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous, while at least 2 years’ experience in a SAP environment, the ability to function independently and computer literacy (MS Office) are essential. Fluency in English and a Code 08 driver’s licence complete the profile.
