The incumbent will perform installation, dismantling, repairs and maintenance on conveyor belts, tips and beneficiation plant in accordance with technical specifications and adhere to safety, environment, quality and housekeeping standards

Xstrata Alloys Western Mines is one of the world’s largest producers of chrome. Western Mines is located in the North West Province, on the outskirts of Rustenburg. We have the following opportunities at Horizon Mines for career-minded individuals:

Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform installation, dismantling, repairs  and maintenance on conveyor belts, tips and beneficiation plant in accordance with technical specifications and adhere to safety, environment, quality and housekeeping standards. Compliance with regulations and procedures, planned maintenance, shutdown and statutory inspections on
equipment will also from part of his/her responsibilities.

Requirements: The successful candidate must be in possession of an N2 Mechanical or Electro-mechanical qualification and relevant Trade Certification. Technical excellence, team management skills and Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality awareness are important, along with operational problem solving and decision making skills. He/she must be results
driven, able to operate on his/her own and have good communication skills (bilingualism or trilingualism will be advantageous). Knowledge of a Trackless Mobile Machinery environment and SD requirements and Mine Health and Safety legislation including Environmental aspects are essential, as is a minimum of a Code B (Code 08) driver’s licence.
