Reports to: Head of Engineering Location: Centurion, South Africa Job Type: Full time Employee Management: No Reports Date: September 2011 Job Purpose Under the supervision of the Hd Engineering and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Software Tester is responsible for testing of programs developed ensuring the software performs well in a real life situation. Primary Duties 1. Implementation of developed test plans specific for software 2. Provision of input for software test plans 3. Designing of test cases for test plans 4. Creation of the test scenarios in which tests are carried out 5. Review of software test cases and checking of the test cases 6. Keeping track of standards set by software testing authorities 7. Performance of test duties for regression 8. Using a tracking system to track reported problems with software 9. Preparation of software test evaluation reports 10. Implementation and participation in walkthrough of software 11. Any other duties deemed necessary to meet corporate objectives. Minimum Requirements Essential: 1. 3 -5 years experience of real time software testing 2. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in relevant subject. 3. Experience in writing and performing component level and system level test cases –independent from main software development cycle. 4. Experience of end to end setup of lab test environment. 5. Performance /load testing and dimensioning models Desirable 1. Knowledge of SS7 and mobile telecoms 2. Experience of working with telecoms analysers and related protocols (SS7, ISUP MAP, INAP) 3.
