A Career at Implats, Electrician - Rustenburg

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• N3/NQF Level 4 plus a recognised Trade Certificate (Section 13)
• A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in the mining industry as an Electrician
• Knowledge of HT/LV protection from 550V to 33kV
• Working knowledge of Electrostatic Precipitators, Overhead Cranes and Variable Speed Drives
• A valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence and own transport
• A valid medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain one. Exposure to furnaces would be considered an advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Daily legal inspections in a section
• Executing planned maintenance and breakdowns and finding faults on electrical equipment
• Undertaking legal testing of electrical equipment and updating legal documents to mine standard
• Reporting all deviations from the Mine Health and Safety Act to the Foreman
• Being on standby
