The Service Manager is responsible for the set up and the smooth running of the entire Service organization including Field Service, Service Line and Service Logistics for our new sales and service subsidiary in Centurion.

Management position for our new sales and service subsidiary in Centurion, South Africa
About the job:
Job objective:
In this role, the Service Manager is responsible for the set up and the smooth running of the entire Service organization including Field Service, Service Line and Service Logistics for our new sales and service subsidiary in Centurion. Initially, he or she will lead a team of 6 and report to the Managing Director and the Headquarters’ (HQ) Service division.
Key responsibilities:
- Leads the service organization and team including Service Line operators as well as Field Service technicians
- Ensures and optimizes all Service processes following our global service excellence strategy
- Creates a flexible organization ready for growth as well as seasonal variation
- Exhibits our first-class service approach to the customer in order to support business development
- Monitors and ensures the Service team’s key performance indicators
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or any educational training in the electro-technical field with proven experience in professional customer after-sales service management
- Has at least three years of experience in a similar leadership role
- Ideally has a very good understanding of high voltage and measurement equipment, the local energy market as well as occupational health and safety regulations
- Must be proficient using MS Office and SAP; a basic understanding of IP network technology would be advantageous
- Has a Class B driver’s license
- Is willing to travel around the country and attend training in Germany as required
- Has very good English and Afrikaans language skills; German language skills would be an asset
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with customers in a positive and professional manner as well as work effectively and independently
- Has strong analytical and conceptual skills
Training:
- At least 4 weeks at our headquarters in Niestetal, Germany
Reporting line:
- Reports to the Managing Director of SMA South Africa
