WE ARE HIRING : LOGISTICS MANAGER - B COMM LOGISTICS

The position demands that the candidate be able to work to systems and with processes, and also be able to think independently, structuring their time, efforts and activities to achieve Logistics department and company goals of efficiency and excellence.

The candidate is required to be a team player and to contribute to the collective. 

 The position entails working amid a wide range of customers from varied backgrounds with different responsibility and skills levels.

 The candidate will have formal logistics and management qualifications (B Comm Logistics).

Tasks and Responsibilities for the geographical areas of responsibility:

 Plan, organise, lead and control the activities of the logistics department.

 Establish SOPs for the various procedures within the department.

 Complete familiarisation with the across-border processes of the various African countries.

 Establish relationships with couriers, shipping companies, freight forwarders, government officials and customers in order to   facilitate the cross-border movement process and to create a positive, professional image. 

 Manage personnel within the logistics department and oversee their functions and activities.

 Other responsibilities as assigned.

Functionality:

 Establish and maintain minimum stock levels to prevent stock-outs.

 Research and prepare quotations for export.

 Check freight rates.

 Follow-up on all export shipments.

 Sign off all orders.

  Taking documents to banks.

 On occasion collecting and delivering stock to couriers, customers, etc.

 Generally assist the logistics team .
