The position of Customer Service Manager is located at 3M South Africa, which is situated at Woodmead, a subsidiary responsible for the marketing and sales of a diversified range of products into Sub-Saharan Africa for the global corporation. To continue its growth in the region, the subsidiary has adopted a market focused strategy and is recruiting for this position to give effect to its business objectives. The Customer Service Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties: 1. Provides strategic leadership & direction on the day to day service operations, pre & post sales services to ensure effective service delivery. 2. Coaches, develops and motivates staff to foster a unified team approach and an empowered and cooperative work environment. Supervises the daily activities of assigned personnel. Includes recruiting, hiring, workload assignments, training, performance appraisal, employee professional development and review of progress in achieving objectives. 3. Identifies, implements and supervises customer service programs which maximize order fill rate, cycle time, on time shipment, low transactional costs as well as productivity in the customer service organization. Works with trade customers intercompany companies, supply chain , thordy party service providers & business units to achieve or expands competitive advantage for 3M. 4. Analyses, development, implementation and execution of policies and procedures. Drives changes in policies and procedures to meet and/or exceed performance objectives. 5. Requires knowledge of 3M logistics and business strategies, and direction to initiate, develop and oversee the implementation of long-term strategies, customer service, import/export business plans, such as business development and cost-reduction plans. 6. Provides leadership, motivation, and direction to assigned business unit, geographic area organizations and their corresponding sales, marketing, import/export and logistics functions. Provides key consulting assistance to management. 7. , train and support export rules & regulations knowledge to total organisation. Also have cross trade understanding to support all facets of the exports business for assigned business unit or geographic area. 8. Pursues continuing professional development to enhance skills.
