Risk and Transport Regulations Manager

Head Office • 5-year fixed-term contract (Ref. RISK M01/2012)

Purpose of the position:
To ensure compliance with all relevant PRASA/Autopax policies and procedures, including those relating to the Autopax insurance portfolio, legislation relating to bus operation (National Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, Road Accident Fund, National/Provincial and Cross-border Bus Permits etc), monitor and implement excellence standards to promote the health, safety, environmental practices and compliance with relevant transport legislation as well as ensure that a customer centric culture prevails throughout the organisation and the customer experience is continuously improved.

Responsibilities:
• Implement cost-effective risk management strategies and plans
• Promote and maintain health, safety and environmental practices compliant with legislation
• Establish customer relationship management with all internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that the company permit portfolio is monitored, updated and maintained
• Protect the company’s permit portfolio and object to new entrance on established routes
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions undertaken
• Ensure that management visits depots on a quarterly basis and report on findings/deviations and actions implemented to rectify the situation
• File claims with the insurers
• Analyse claims against insurers and take appropriate action
• Conduct accident investigations and reporting
• Compile and distribute reports to relevant PRASA/Autopax Managers and keep record/s thereof
• Represent Autopax at the various operating licensing/permit boards
• Communicate effectively
• Implement and manage service level agreement/s.

Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or M + 4 years equivalent
• More than 3 years’ experience at management level
• Appropriate management experience (risk, safety, licensing, permits).

Added advantage: Code EB driver’s licence.
