Armscor is looking for an HRD Specialist who will provide training and development and take the responsibility of ensuring the sustainable, long-term success of the strategic plans, policies and programmes
Armscor is looking for an HRD Specialist who will provide training and development and take the responsibility of ensuring the sustainable, long-term success of the strategic plans, policies and programmes to support organisational objectives across all Armscor departments, including ADI business units and Dockyard.
Responsibilities:
• Align training and development initiatives with the organisational strategic goals
• Design and develop training and development programmes based on a structured approach with clear timeframes
• Develop a talent pipeline
• Monitor and measure the execution of all development initiatives and report thereon quarterly
• Strategically align the succession and retention of skills in the organisation
• Represent the organisation at all external training forums
• Manage and coordinate the SETA initiatives on a proactive basis and maximise opportunities
• Manage the delivery of training and development programmes
• Jointly review training strategy for the organisation
• Ensure that the compliance training and development requirements are met
• Collaborate with all the relevant industry stakeholders, DoD, etc
• Evaluate current training and development programmes
• Interface with local schools in identifying talent
• Amend and revise programmes as and when required, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment
• Explore and establish the Armscor Training Academy for scarce and critical skills
• Partner with line managers, coaches and mentors to solve specific training challenges
• Assess and promote a learning culture in the organisation
• Create a one-stop service for all training requirements and proactively advise and engage line at the highest level.
Requirements:
• A 3- to 4-year technical qualification, plus an HR or Training qualification
• 5-8 years’ technical experience • Technical management training
• Relevant work experience in a Training and Development environment
• Highlevel executive coaching, mentoring and change facilitation skills
• The ability to interact at all levels
• Tenacity, self-motivation and excellent communication skills
• A passion for development
• Accreditation as a Trainer, Mentor and Moderator
• Strong technical training exposure (preferably in the defence industry).
International exposure would be an advantage.
