ALS is a diversified analytical group, with a Mineral Laboratory in Edenvale. Applications are invited for the following vacancy within the Finance/Admin/Procurement Department in Johannesburg (Brunton Circle site):

Procurement Manager

General responsibilities:
• Procurement
• Managing stores
• Logistics
• Stock-taking
• Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller – Africa.

Qualification required: A minimum of a Matric certificate/Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Procurement/Stores Management.

Work experience required:
• A minimum of 10 years’ purchasing experience in a corporate environment, with strong logistics experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ management experience
• Experience in a chemical engineering background would be advantageous.

General requirements:
• Strong work ethic
• Computer literate
• Excellent written and spoken business English communication skills
• Accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure – must be deadline-driven
• Ability to prioritise
• Willingness to adhere to Company rules, policies, and regulations
• Good self-management skills
• Must anticipate needs and must be responsive to enquiries.
