Middle East $160 000 - $200 000. FIFO from any location, including the moon as you guys are just so hard to find!

With a background in Underground Mining and broad knowledge of Ground Support, you should be in a position to provide geotechnical leadership by coordinating geotechnical activities to determine ground conditions and optimal ground support parameters.

Your future employer is an international mining house with operations globally, and is going from strength to strength.

You will be responsible for a team of Geotechnical Engineers with a view to guiding them in best practice principals to ensure risk minimisation and maximised underground stability.

This is an expat role, so will see you involved in mentoring your team of Geotechs. You really will be able to flex your muscle and get stuck into the challenge at hand!!

Your role will involve the following:

• Generate design and ground support standards including a Ground Support Management Plan.
• Manage and monitor data from rock structural analysis to provide analytical assessment of ground structure to facilitate effective stope design.
• Develop strategies for geotechnical risk minimisation to ensure stability of openings.
• Review and implement changes in Ground Control Plans.
• Continual inspections and reports.
• Manage and promote the professional development of your team of Geotechs.

To be successful, you will need tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, ideally a Degree in Rock Mechanics, or alternatively a degree in Geology or Mining Engineering with post-grad qualifications geared towards Rock Mechanics.

Ideally you will have vast geotechnical experience predominantly in an underground environment, as well as exposure to Geotechnical software (eg. Dips, Unwedge, numerical modelling) and Mine / Geotechnical Design Software, couple with excellent report writing skills.

The role will operate on a FIFO roster from anywhere!
