National electronics retail group with online business and nationwide stores, is seeking an experienced buyer of replenishments to work at their Head Office. We are seeking someone from a foods/grocery/perishables/FMCG background. Minimum requirement; Matric. A tertiary qualification would be advantageous. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • 3 -5 years buying experience within the retail sector • Merchandise experience within FMCG buying beneficial • Supply chain knowledge • Working knowledge of retail buying systems • 3 year’s experience managing a stock-file to budget and required levels SKILLS: • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Drive and energy • Negotiation skills • Numerical and analytical skills • Work well in a team • Customer service orientated • Judgment and decision making • Practical planning and prioritising • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal KEY OUTPUT: • Optimisation of Supplier Relationships • Implementation of Marketing and Promotional Advertising initiatives • Ensuring maximum return on promotions • NSS and Excess Stock – negotiate supplier returns/compensation to clear slow moving or overstocked SKU’s (in conjunction with planners) • Contribution to Group – monthly store visits and development of strategies where required and mandated • Macro and Micro Market Initiatives – providing competent inputs re: market size and market share within each Department. Providing input with regards to competitor and supplier analysis. Providing trend information for both local and international trends • Sales and Margin Management
