3D CAD Draughtsman / Designer

We require the full time services of a CAD Draughtsman / Designer to start immediately. The criteria for the position are exact and no chancers will be considered. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE PLEASE DO NOT APPLY!

Turnerland Manufacturing specialises in the design and manufacture of Planting, Harvesting and Packing and Grading Machinery for the potato industry. We are situated in Hopefield (about 40km inland from Saldanha) on the West Coast of South Africa.

The qualifications are as follows. The candidate will be responsible for the design and layout of packing and grading equipment. Experience of conveyors, packshed design and layout is an essential requirement. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years solid design experience with a practical / technical background. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in the potato industry.

An excellent working knowledge of Solid Edge ST 3D Design Software and AutoCad as your secondary design software is a non negotiable prerequisite. Solid Edge ST2 is our main design software so you must be fluent in its application. IF YOU HAVE NOT DESIGNED IN SOLID EDGE, SOLID WORKS, INVENTOR OR SIMILAR 3D PACKAGE PLEASE DO NOT APPLY!

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel will be an advantage.

Basic project management skills will be an advantage as the designer will be working in close conjunction with our production team on a daily basis. The candidate must be able to work well on close deadlines and function well under pressure. The candidate must be prepared to work extended hours when a project so requires.

Salary is negotiable on experience and qualifications.
