Are you an analytical, meticulous and organised problem solver with 2-3 years experience in managed care, health risk management, health service/ product pricing or scheme benefit design? An excellent opportunity awaits you within the Health Risk Department based in Cape Town or Braamfontein

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will assume a challenging and wide-ranging portfolio, which includes, inter alia the following:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

Conduct medical scheme risk data analysis, and direct clinical risk management strategies.

Risk management reporting and health informatics.

Benefit design, scheme pricing, product pricing and predictive modelling.

Development of Medical Schemes' Risk Management models, including capitation.

Coding, DRG's and alternative reimbursement models.

IBNR calculation and reporting.

Conduct Risk Equalisation Fund (REF) reviews.

Support for tariff negotiations, including development of models to assess impacts tariff increases.

The applicant should meet these requirements:

Qualified Actuary

Has worked in the South African medical scheme industry for at least 2 years.

Well developed analytic and problem-solving skills.

Experience in working with MS Word, MS Excel (Macro Level) and MS Access.

Strategic thinking and leadership qualities.

Innovative.

Negotiation skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of clinical data and coding.

MS SQL programming skills.
