Overview
The Information Enterprise Architecture (IEA) is responsible for translating business requirements into systems qualities and into repeatable design strategies and patterns that enable adaptability, scalability, availability, non-repudiation and reusability. The IEA reports the status of ongoing enterprise architecture activities to the Chief of Information Security (CISO).
The role is within a leading international investment bank.
Key Accountabilities
- Enterprise Architect will focus on the IT enterprise level and connectivity between multiple applications.
- Geared to be more proactive, less reactive; more strategic, less tactical
- Provide guidance to the Project Architects who apply enterprise standards and guidelines at the project level
- Develop an infrastructure that enables projects to be fully integrated and enables the following: Projects to build on a common foundation rather than always starting from scratch, Projects to be accomplished cheaper and faster with a broader impact
- Working with the developing vendor to design and implement the project
- Possess the ability to define the following - Opportunities for integration- Selecting the tools,specifying the shared data & code resources, defining the interfaces and data-flows, monitoring the success of said integration
- Possess the ability to compile or design architectural models of current and proposed systems across the enterprise for use internally and in conjunction with Technology Partners.
- Establish the Design Repository and Metadata Repository for integrating all aspects of these models, and provides oversight of its use in conjunction with integrated tool sets
- Perform design reviews across the organization. (Note: not code reviews.)
- Lead the evaluation of vendor software targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools, and utilities.
- Assist/define the IT design methodology, development process methodology and best practices
- Surveys external emerging developments, and evangelizes new technologies, standards and methodologies that will have a positive impact on the company\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s bottom-line and quality of service
- Participates in external standards body work that defines IT standards in the banking community
- Knowledge of the SDLC process/cycle
- Information Security knowledge: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
- Exposure to IT/architecture and practices, enterprise systems and software, project and corporate environment
- Strong presentation and influencing skills
- Enterprise compliance and governance knowledge/understanding
- Knowledge of the financial industry
- Strong relationship building skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Ability to think short-long term
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and employees across business units
- Understanding of compliance & risk related legislation
- 5-8 years. (At least 3 years management experience)
- Post graduate qualification required
- Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) required
- CISSP/CISA/CIA/CISM certification strongly desired
- 9 Years
- Post Graduate - Honours (NQF 7)
