Leading a small group of multi – disciplinary staff.

The (MSI) Board of Directors seeks to appoint a General Manager:

The appointee will be required to do the following:
• Leading a small group of multi – disciplinary staff. • Implementation of the MSI’s Business Plan. • Further
develop MSI’s existing strategies and Business Plan to achieve sustainability and financial independence. • Provide Business support for the establishment and development of smme’s. • Manage a number of key strategic alliances with MSI’s technical, marketing and financing partners. • Develop and implement training programmes for the new essential Metals SMME’s. • Market MSI locally and internationally to secure public and private sector funding for MSI and its projects. • Participate in the decision making and control processes of MSI Board of Directors. • Negotiate an achievement of KPIs of the Centre in line with the Seda Technology Programme objectives.

Requirements of the incumbent are:

Qualification: o Recognized and appropriate BSc degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering, Businessrelated
degree or equivalent o Post-graduate qualification in Business or Management discipline would be
advantageous. o Valid medical fitness certificate.

Experience in: o Business and strategic management discipline (essential) o Specific experience in metal forming and/or casting operations of at least 4 years would be an added advantage. o SMME development (essential) o Mentoring and Coaching Experience o Fund raising from specialist donor agencies (essential) o Excellent problem solving and analytical skills(essential) o Interaction with relevant SA Government Department. o Understanding of compliance to the South African statutory laws and regulations.

The position is a three year contract remuneration package is negotiable commensurate with experience and abilities.

The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Middleburg in Mpumalanga.
