An opportunity has arisen in the Finance department for a self-driven and motivated individual who will be responsible for the Credit Department of a large dynamic FMCG Global company.



 

  • Drive the maintenance of and ongoing enhancements to processes and procedures within the business unit.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support from the relevant business units
  • Prepare annual cost and capital budgets and drive the achievement of these budgets
  • Report on and manage the business/credit risks associated with the business unit.
  • Contribute to policy determination within the Wholesale Credit environment.
  • Enter into loan agreements on behalf of the company.
  • Jointly make decisions with the Head: Legal Services (for example) or FM whatever applicable to the company in regard to accounts in liquidation.
  • Delegate appropriate signing authorities to the business unit\\\'s Head: Legal and Risk Compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • B.Com degree with Accounting or Finance as major a minimum requirement.
  • MBA, CFA, C.A., Law degree advantageous.
  • 5 - 10 years experience in a credit or financial FMCG environment essential.
  • Understanding of the South African corporate lending industry a requirement.
  • Understanding of credit grading and credit pricing models a requirement.
  • Sound general knowledge of the relevant regulatory environment, laws and acts, e.g. Basel II, Commercial law, the RSA Company\\\'s Act, the Bank\\\'s Act, NCA etc

 

Competencies required

 

  • General knowledge of macro economy and RSA commerce and industry.
  • Understanding of business models, management and theories.
  • Strong financial skills, as demonstrated by an analytical ability and an understanding of financial reports and of business drivers.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication - Professional and accurate.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Confidence to liaise and debate complex issues effectively and efficiently at the highest governance levels through out the organisation and group.
