Mine Manager: Projects

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
● B degree/NHD in Mining Engineering
● Mine Manager’s Certifi cate
● A Project Management qualifi cation (PMBOK)
● 4-6 years’ working experience in Production, Mine Planning and Project Management
● A Management Development Programme qualification
● A valid Medical Certifi cate, or medically fit to obtain such a certifi cate
● Strategic thinking and planning skills
● Project administrative skills
● Computer literacy (MS Offi ce, Mine 2-4 D, etc).

The successful candidate will be expected to:
● Provide appropriate mining designs and schedules for proposed new shafts/projects
● Assist in long-term strategic planning related to life-of-mine planning
● Incorporate relevant technological developments to advance Implats’ project management methodologies/processes
● Develop conceptual project plans to meet the requirements of Implats’ 30-year mining plan
● Conduct feasibility studies, based on conceptual plans
● Ensure effective implementation of plans and professionally manage large-scale mining projects within time, cost, safety and quality parameters
● Ensure effective handover of projects to production and submit comprehensive “closeout” reports.
