The IGA Coordinator has an overall responsibility for the development and management of VSL, IGA and other economic development component of the CARE Projects in the Provinces.



CARE is one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations. Its current focus is on women and girls.
It manages and supports programs related to HIV/AIDS and health care, voluntary savings and loans,
income generation, capacity building of CBOs and local NGOs and efforts to improve local governance.

CARE South Africa is looking for motivated self starters to fill the following vacancies;

Income Generating Activities (IGA) Coordinator (2) – Eastern Cape

The IGA Coordinator has an overall responsibility for the development and management of VSL, IGA and other economic development component of the CARE Projects in the Provinces. The incumbent manages the Provincial VSL Facilitators in developing and maintaining the VSL models. S/He mentors the VSL Facilitators on methodologies and strategies to be implemented to assist and encourage VSL members that plan to start IGAs or small businesses. S/He trains and supports implementing partners’ staff responsible for economic activities.

Minimum requirements are • Bachelors degree in Development, Business Management, Finance or Economics; • At least three years experience in project management; • Experience of working in partnership with donors, government (national, provinical and local) and civil society; • Demonstrated entrepreneur skills; • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); • Valid Drivers License
