KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

External and Internal Customer Support

• Liaise with customer base (Company management) on system requirements and integration with business processes.
• Interact with technical department and other members of the MIS department on performance monitoring and improvements, bandwidth consumption, and related hardware and technical issues.
• Discuss and resolve queries with technical team and customer base.
• Scoping / strategy sessions with the customer base / technical team and MIS to determine the longer term strategy of Enterprise Portal within the global corporation.
• Training of customer base in relevant technologies / tools where applicable.

Existing Systems and Technology

• Analyse and Design web based data exploitation systems to deliver information to business users, e.g. dashboards and information portals.
• Analyse and Design client applications for business user decision support.
• Assist in identifying, interpreting and providing business intelligence systems to enable organisation wide decision making.
• Implement development and operational processes and standards within the development team.
• Analysis and improvement of enterprise systems using formal analysis methodologies to ensure best practice standards are maintained and / or implemented.
• The ability to analyze and work with large data sets doing queries, data cleansing, transformation and presentation.
• Identification of problems, opportunities and/or gaps in the tools and technologies employed by MIS.
• Review and recommend suitable technical specifications for system tools and technology.
• Coding and building Enterprise Solutions, using appropriate technologies such as ASP/ASP.Net, VB/VB.Net etc.
• Database design and development, including SQL queries, stored procedures.
• SQL Server administration and monitoring functions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric/Grade 12 qualification
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology
• Minimum of 6 years experience in development (ASP/.Net) and database technology (MS SQL)
• Experience in and knowledge of the healthcare industry beneficial.
• Extensive experience in developing with SQL Server based technologies (SSIS,SSRS,SQL AS,T-SQL) using current development standards, as well as have strong experience with Business Objects related development. Candidates to be considered will write a 1.5 hour technical assessment after which the normal interview process will be considered based on the outcome of the test result.
