Take responsibility for the overall management of the Sub-directorate
Manager: Medical Services
Salary: R506 757 per annum (all-inclusive remuneration package per annum. The inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the Government’s contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and a flexible portion, and is structured according to Government prescripts) (Ref. H/M/2)
Standard Compliance Sub-directorate
Requirements:
- An MBCHB or Health Science degree and registration with the Health Professions Councils of SA
- A minimum of 8 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner
- Extensive clinical and management experience
- Extensive experience in and knowledge of Quality Assurance and Clinical Audits
- Experience in teaching a multidisciplinary team
- The ability to analyse data and write comprehensive reports
- Computer literacy
- Presentation skills
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within and outside the Province.

Duties: The incumbent will form an essential part of the Standard Compliance Sub-directorate’s quality assessment team.
He/she will:
- Take responsibility for the overall management of the Sub-directorate
- Develop and implement clinical audit policies, manuals and tools
- Commission and co-ordinate research projects regarding quality assurance
- Provide support and guidance to the FSDOH regarding quality assurance and clinical audits
- Give direction and guidance to clinical staff concerning the approach, methods and content of routine and ad hoc clinical audit activities
- Provide training in clinical audit techniques, with particular reference to the most appropriate methodology
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of facilities (hospital and district support) regarding clinical audits and quality assurance
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Standard Compliance Sub-directorate in ensuring that best practice is spread throughout the Province
- Provide Strategic Management in the following areas: * Clinical governance * Support and monitoring of the implementation of the Infection Control Policy * Patient Safety, Adverse Event Management, Clinical Risk Management * Support and monitoring of the implementation of the Quality Assurance Strategy and accreditation by COHSASA * Supporting the management of annual licensing and new applications of private facilities.
