Applicants must hold a B Pharm degree and be appropriately registered with the Pharmacy Council of South Africa. This must be supported by approximately 3-5 years’ experience in a managerial position and in procurement. Proven exceptional verbal and written English communication skills and competency in management, fi nancial and administration matters are vital, as are profi ciency in using the Microsoft Offi ce Suite and Unisolve Systems. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, business and organisational abilities are essential. The successful candidate must be analytical and pay attention to detail, yet be capable of prioritising and managing his/her time and work load effectively. Furthermore, he/she must be self-reliant, selfdriven and results-oriented. A Business-related qualifi cation or postgraduate qualification will
be advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities include: ● Accepting responsibility for being the responsible Pharmacist for the Pharmacy ● Developing a comprehensive operational/service plan that will ensure the achievement of annual objectives set by Gold Fields Health. Planning includes fi nancial and resource planning ● Overseeing all Pharmacy activities in the region for both hospital and primary healthcare clinics ● Controlling all Pharmacy supplier negotiations, procurement, contract management, distribution, fi nancial and management system requirements ● Determining the appropriate operational methodologies and procedures of the Pharmacy and setting quality, quantity and timeframe deliverables for short- and mediumterm delivery up to one year ● Enhancing customer service and quality assurance systems to deliver the best healthcare product ● Identifying new opportunities for the Pharmacy to expand its services thereby achieving growth, profitability and sustainability objectives ● Ensuring that all legislation is adhered to ● Implementing financial and budgetary controls and ensuring proper processes are in place to detect early deviation from plan to effect timeous corrective action ● Ensuring all pharmacy services maintain the highest level of quality delivery, customer satisfaction and that clinical risks are mitigated to ensure safe supply of medication to patients.
