Applicants must be in possession of a B Pharm degree, be appropriately registered with the Pharmacy Council of South Africa and have around 3-5 years’ experience in a senior managerial position, as well as 3-5 years in procurement. Competency in management, financial and administration matters is very important here and candidates must be analytical and pay attention to detail, yet be capable of prioritising and effectively managing their time and workload. Profi ciency in the use of the Unisolve System, Microsoft Offi ce Suite is also essential. The skills set required encompasses exceptional verbal and written English communication and strong interpersonal, negotiation, business and organisational abilities. Our ideal person is selfreliant, self-driven and results-oriented. A business-related or postgraduate qualifi cation will be advantageous. Candidates must be declared medically fi t for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at a relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.

Duties and responsibilities include: ● Assume the duties as the responsible Pharmacist for the Pharmacy ● Developing a comprehensive operational/service plan that will ensure the achievement of annual objectives set by Gold Fields Health. Planning includes fi nances and resources ● Overseeing all Pharmacy activities in the region for both hospital and primary healthcare clinics ● Controlling all Pharmacy supplier negotiations, procurement, contract management, distribution,
fi nancial and management system requirements ● Determining the appropriate operational methodologies and procedures of the Pharmacy and setting quality, quantity and timeframe deliverables for short- and medium-term delivery up to one year ● Enhancing customer service and quality assurance systems to deliver the best healthcare product ● Identifying new opportunities for the Pharmacy to expand its services for growth, profi tability and sustainability objectives ● Ensuring that all legislation is adhered to ● Implementing fi nancial and budgetary controls and ensuring proper processes are in place to detect early deviation from plan, in order to effect timeous corrective action ● Ensuring all pharmacy services maintain the highest level of quality delivery and customer satisfaction and that clinical risks are mitigated to ensure the safe
supply of medication to patients.
