Process Engineer with experience in project process design mainly in GRAVITY SEPARATION.

Description:
Process Engineer for the gravity separation center of excellence with experience in project process design and operational experience. Experience in jigs, typically under bed air pulsed jigs. Experience and knowledge of GRAVITY SEPARATION equipment and physical beneficiation including processes in ore beneficiation, mineral sands, coal washing, mineral beneficiation and metal recovery classifications. Process equipment experience in jigs, spirals cyclones, pumps, DMS, thickeners, classifiers. 

Minimum qualifications, skills & experience:
· Must have a BEng, BSc (Chem.Eng) or NHD Extrative Metallurgy.

· Must have at least 5-10 years Process Engineering experience within the relevant industry 5 years experience in Gravity Separation and/or Physical Separation.· A long-term appointment is envisaged for the successful candidate with a package in keeping with the requirements for this position.
Main responsibilities:
1. Provide process engineering solutions in studies and projects by:
a) Defining the process/plant scope of work.
b) Generate all process design criteria.
c) Formulating process engineering designs:
Process flow diagrams
Mass and water balances
Detailed process equipment design calculations
Control philosophy and functional specifications
Pipe and instrumentation diagrams
2. Manage process commissioning:
a) During planning and execution.
b) By liaising with vendors.
c) By participating as a team member of the multidisciplinary commissioning team.
d) By formulating close out reports and maintaining good client relations.
3. Provide process engineering input to proposals by:
a) Formulating client contracts and maintain service excellence to clients.
4. Contribute to process discipline growth opportunities by:
a) Identifying new technologies.
b) Investigation and selection of new technologies for development.
c) Assessing existing technologies for acquisition.

Behavioral competencies:
· The suitable candidate must show evidence of sound leadership and strong organizational skills.· Individual must be a self starter and enthusiastic.
IMPORTANT: My client is a \"Design/Project Management House\" in the Metals and Minerals Industry. They design plants/solutions for mines, etc. The suitable candidate must not be from a Processing Equipment Supplier, as these companies would supply equipment to my client. My client needs someone who can design the process and NOT the equipment. An operations or production environment will only be suitable if the person has strong DESIGN experience. NOT looking for a Process Engineer that works (operationally) IN a plant, but ONLY design them. The suitable candidate must have 7 - 10 years of relevant working experience.
