A reputable company is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to manage and implement the company's financial and accounting requirements. The main responsibility is to ensure the smooth running and operation of the department.

Relevant BCOM Degree

Experience

Minimum 3 years articles and 2 years relevant experience

Main purpose of job

To manage and implement the company\'s financial and accounting requirements

To ensure the smooth running and operation of the department

Main Tasks and duties

Monthly Management Accounts

Financial Statements according to GAAP for yearly audits

Assist in preparing monthly audit file

Monthly statutory returns and VAT (calculations)

Oversee processing of all journals in finance department

Implementation and management of Standard Operating Procedures for Finance

Monthly reconciliation of GL accounts

Processing of Monthly journals: Provisions, accruals, depreciation etc

Various financial reports for management and associate company

Review Cashbook reconciliations

Processing of cashbooks

Review of monthly creditors

Process and reconciliation of monthly creditors

Monthly reconciliation of GL accounts

Completing Statutory returns

Prepare once-off payments (ensure all details are correct)

Count, verify petty cash at month end and review and sign off of the petty cash cashbook

Responsible for fixed asset register and all relevant transactions.

Salaries: Processing of payroll reports on pastel (don\'t need to do the payroll)

Balancing of loans accounts

Must have the experience and ability to:

- Manage staff

- Resolve financial queries

- Liaise with company internal and external auditors

- Train staff

- Communicate internally and externally in both English and Afrikaans 

Salary

Up to R400 000per annum depending on experience

Location

Midrand (moving to Centurion 01/01/2010)
