BUYER

Salary: R 16 000 medical aid and provident fund

JOB PURPOSE

To provide Purchasing support and expertise to all internal customers and by leveraging competitive advantage with all our suppliers ensuring we achieve the best ultimate cost.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Interface with internal customers

a. Devise a tactical plan in line with good sourcing strategy

b. Prepare approach to negotiations

c. Facilitate the negotiation process

d. Conduct and conclude negotiations

Ensure up to date contract details are lodged with Finance

Resolve any invoice queries

Monitor actual prices against contract

Manage day to day supplier relationship

Manage supplier performance and risk

Execute orders as per MRP/total demand

Support local materials management for bottleneck items process changes

Drive cost savings projects as per area of spend

MINIMUM CRITERIA

Entry Criteria

Purchasing diploma / degree

Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience in FMCG or Pharmaceutical

Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Proficiency in English (written & spoken)

Knowledge & Skills

SAP knowledge and experience
