VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions (SACAU) is a regional membership-based organization representing the common interests of farmers in southern Africa. Its Secretariat is based in Centurion, Pretoria, South Africa. In order to effectively discharge its mandate in the areas of policy advocacy on regional, continental and global matters, strengthening of farmers’ organizations and the provision of agricultural information, the organization is seeking to recruit candidates from the SADC region for vacancies described below for its Secretariat.
ACCOUNTS AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Reporting to the CEO, he/she will be responsible for all the administration and financial management functions in the Secretariat. Key duties include financial management and planning; production of management accounts, donor financial reports and end of year financials; ensuring compliance with good financial governance and all statutory requirements including taxation; costing; advice and support to Secretariat’s professional staff and members; payroll; personnel management; procurement and asset management, including security of data; travel and conference logistics; supervision of related staff; supporting resource mobilization, and developing and management of the organization’s investment portfolio.
Qualifications and experience: At least a B. Com or equivalent plus a recognized professional qualification is a
must. In addition, 5 or more years relevant experience in the field of accounting or financial management. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English (and French is an added advantage) and good interpersonal skills. Experience in the development sector and with donor funding arrangements will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Pastel Accounting package, Excel, Word, VIP or any other payroll system is essential. Please note that this post is open to South African citizens only.
All the above posts are offered on a 3-year contract and a remuneration package which is dependent on qualifications and experience. The application should provide 3 contactable references.
