Responsibilities:

Preparation and supervision of contract estimates, pricing of change notices, scope changes and variations.

Application of monthly Sub-contractor progress certificates.

Developing and managing processes and procedures including preparation of submissions on behalf of MRP to the client (Hitachi).

Verification and validation of sub-contractor progress payment certificates (Sub-contractors to MRP)  Supervision of QS team.

Preparation of management reports as required.

General estimating & QS duties as may be directed.

Key Requirements:

Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in a lead / senior estimating and quantity surveying role in the construction environment.

Should be able to manage a team of quantity surveyors to achieve the objectives of the contract / project.

Good understanding of various forms of contracts i.e. FIDEC and NEC as applied by the client (Hitachi and Eskom).

Experience in power / energy projects very advantageous.

Exposure to control systems including CCS a prerequisite.  

Well developed IT skills especially MS Excel a requirement.

The incumbent should have good interpersonal skills as the role will require a lot of interaction with team members, sub-contractors and main contractor.

Good communication skills both written and verbal.

NVQ6, BSc or BTech (Mech), BSc / BTech QS
